One of the leading thinkers of the Islamist movement.  His group, the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, and later organizations based on his teachings believed that secular human government is illegitimate, that all government must be based on the teachings of God and Mohammed, and that the traditional lands of Islam must be won back to the faith.
