Keith Hennessey on Understanding the Upcoming Deficit Numbers

Next week, the Obama administration will release the Mid-Session Review, which updates economic and budget forecasts, as well as budgetary effects of laws enacted since the budget was released, along with the president's newly proposed policies.

Keith Hennessey breaks down the numbers for us, telling what we'll hear and warning us what to look for and what really matters as the administration tries to spin its way out of accountability.

Hennessey is the former National Economic Council Director under George W. Bush. Before that, he spent eight years on Capitol Hill as a policy advisor to Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS). He was also on the Senate Budget Committee staff for the Chairman, Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM), and for a short time was on the staff of the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, which was co-chaired by Senator Bob Kerrey (D-NE) and Senator Jack Danforth (R-MO). Before that, he designed and tested software for Symantec Corporation. He holds a B.A.S. in math and political science from Stanford, and a Master in Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School at Harvard.
