The Obama administration has announced it will try 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9-11 Gitmo detainees in a civilian federal court in New York, allowing them the protections of the U.S. Constitution even though they are not U.S. citizens.

Exclusive: Rep. Myrick Launches ‘Wake Up America’ 2.0 National Security and Counterterrorism Agenda

Last year, FSM informed you of Rep. Sue Myrick’s (R-NC) “Wake Up America” Agenda, featuring a 10-point strategy to alert and educate Americans to terrorist threats posed by radical Islamic extremists here at home. The goal was, as Myrick said, to “explain to people what the roadblocks are” regarding the fight against terrorism in the United States. At the time, she felt “very strongly about the infiltration” by those who would do us harm “that’s taking place in America.”

Rep. Myrick is also the founder of the House Anti-Terrorism Caucus, whose goal is to educate Members of Congress about these threats. She also sits on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Rep. Myrick has made some impressive headway within the past year, but despite her best efforts – and despite what the media would have you believe – the terrorist threat is, sadly, alive and well. So, Rep. Myrick has launched her “Wake Up America” 2.0 Agenda, an expanded version of last year’s effort.

Through “Wake Up America” 2.0, Rep. Myrick hopes to build upon her national security and counterterrorism work over the past several years, as well as better define Congressional counterterrorism priorities in order to better address the national security threats we face from self-proclaimed radical Islamists and jihadists.

The updated agenda is comprised of the following five areas of interest:

  • Domestic Counter-Terrorism
  • Countering Radical Islamist Financing
  • Countering Radical Islamist “Lawfare”
  • Education to Help Counter Radical Islamists
  • Strategic Assets Abroad
