One-Day Counterterrorism Symposium in New Jersey Coming in November

Do you live in or near Newark, New Jersey? If so, you may want to attend a one-day counterterrorism symposium, scheduled for November 14th. This special event is designed to educate the public on counterterrorism prevention and disaster response, with particular emphasis on cell phone and digital forensics, IEDs, and interoperability of communication. It’s the latest in a series of seminars hosted by the NJ Marine Corps Reserve Association and others, which focus on different pro-active aspects of terrorist prevention and mitigation.

Events like this one are happening all over the nation, and the New Jersey event is in its third year. It’s extremely important for average Americans to know about the terrorist threat that our nation continues to face. After all, we are all “citizen soldiers.”

The panel of experts will include, among others, a representative from the New Jersey State Police bomb squad; Jack P. Mattera, Former Deputy Director, Dept. of Public Safety and IT/ Cyber Security Expert; and Mike Tobia of the Department of Homeland Security – Science and Technology.

For more information on this vital event, please contact Col. Walter F. Conner (USMC, ret.) at wconner9@comcast.net.
